- It's become rote for a band based in somewhere like say Portland, Oregon to be comprised of two guys (Brandon Summers and Benjamin Weikel for instance) to craft Beatlesesque pop songs by way of My Bloody Valentine in the freedom of their home recording studio. Take the Helio Sequence as one such example of this. Formed in 1999, Summers and Weikel released their first EP Accelerated Slow Motion, which was followed by Com Plex in 2001. They later released Young Effectuals in 2001 and then went back to the studio where they were interrupted by Weikel's brief foray as drummer for Modest Mouse. - Underground Online
