• After growing up together in Canada, Montreal-ites Tim Fletcher, Dave Hamelin, Greg Paquet and Oliver Crowe would abandon their various side-projects in favor of working together and forming The Stills in 2000. While honing their craft, the band mates moved to New York for 2 months and recorded a number of demos on a 4-track tape recorder, which would later become the basis for their debut album, Logic Will Break Your Heart. Sounding a bit like Joy Division and Echo and the Bunnymen, The Stills combine '80s melodies with 21st century stylings and deliver a sound as distinctive as it is compelling. - Ugo
