- The story of Carolina Liar is almost like the script to a Hollywood movie about the music industry. At the center of the group is Charleston, SC, native Chad Wolf. A singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Wolf fell under the spell of new wave through his older sister's record collection. At the age of 22 he relocated to Los Angeles, CA, earning a living doing whatever odd jobs he could (which included being an extra in a Celine Dion video), eventually landing an internship with songwriter Diane Warren, who helped Wolf refine and sharpen his writing skills. The story might have ended there if Wolf hadn't agreed to housesit for a friend who just happened to know famed Swedish record producer Max Martin. Martin heard one of Wolf's songs and asked to hear more, and soon Wolf found himself in Stockholm recording an album with one of Europe's biggest pop producers and backed by an all-Swedish band of Jim Almgren Gandara on guitar, Johan Carlsson on keyboards, Rickard Goransson on guitar, Max Grahn on drums, and Erik Haager on bass. Christened Carolina Liar, the band, with Wolf handling lead vocals, released a debut album, Coming to Terms, on Atlantic Records in 2008.

- Imagine the early Police, Manu Chao and The Cure collaborating to write a Quentin Tarantino movie soundtrack. Sprinkle in the energy of a late 60's feel good anthem, some modern day indie-rock soundscapism, and you have the ingredients of Brooklyn-based Deadbeat Darling. The band was founded by singer/guitarist Joseph King who quickly teamed up with drummer/vocalist Alex Wong, bassist/keyboardist Sanjay Jain, and guitarist Mohit Bhansali. Characterized by Alex’s electronica-influenced drumming, Sanjay’s and Mo’s synth and tremolo-fueled soundscapes, and King’s gravely vocals, the band creates a sound that is sensual, moody and pulsing with positive vibration. Deadbeat Darling has been playing select dates throughout New York City, selling out clubs in the Lower East Side, Brooklyn and Chelsea. The band has recently finished its debut release with producer/engineer Chris Coady (TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blonde Redhead, Grizzly Bear). The 4 song EP, titled "Belle Epoch", was released in late September to a fervent reception from their buzzing fanbase.
