Ruen Brothers
Ruen Brothers
Two brothers (Ru & Henry Stansall), from the small industrial town of Scunthorpe, Northern England, were first discovered by BBC Introducing and heavily supported by BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and Zane Lowe (being Zane’s hottest record in the world twice and performing a Maida Vale session hosted by the BBC). The pair landed a record deal with New York's acclaimed Universal Republic Records and have since found themselves songwriting with The Weeknd, touring with George Ezra and Tom Odell, sharing material with Lana Del Rey and recording an album produced by Rick Rubin in LA’s feted Shangri La Studios; whilst also finding the time to perform at Coachella, Radio 1 Big Weekend, Isle of Wight, ACL & CMJ festivals in 2015.

From pub circuits to being on the same bill as The Rolling Stones, the Ruen Brothers have received critical acclaim. They have featured in GQ, Wonderland, Notion, tmrw, Q, NME, and Burberry. The Los Angeles Times named them as 'Best New British Music Coachella 2015' and 'Coachella 2015: 10 Artists to catch at the fest before they get huge’.
Music Times (NYC) featured the band in their ‘CMJ 2015: 10 Best Bands We Discovered at the Music Marathon’.

Their music has received airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6, KROQ, KCRW, ALT 98.7, XFM (Radio X) and a host of independent stations across the UK and USA. Ruen Brothers also featured on Dermot O'Leary's 2014 Saturday Sessions Album which reached number 1 in the UK iTunes Chart.

Their single ‘Unknown’, released 4th November 2016, was featured in Apple Music’s ‘Best Of The Week’ playlist amongst 50 of the best songs released that same week over all genres. The song was also included in various other Apple Music and Spotify playlists and received notable radio airplay in the UK and US. The song and its video were inspired by classic cinematography; initially, the Coen Brothers film ’The Man Who Wasn’t There’.

After making a move to Los Angeles in early 2016, the brothers recorded an album's worth of new music which is set to be released this year. They currently reside in New York City and are performing a weekly residency at the Manderley Bar within the McKittrick Hotel, Friday and Saturday nights at 2am. The building is home to the consistently sold out interactive and immersive 'Sleep No More' theatre show by Punchdrunk.
