"Jonathan and Jacob met each other at summer camp when they were children. they've been best friends ever since (except for a five year period when they hated each other). They've both had successful musical careers individually, but this is the first time they've sat down and written songs together. "We've always wanted to make music together, but distance and violence has always stopped us."

"We'd been planning a new band together for a while. Jon was living in New York and I was living in Florida. He said the music scene was better in NYC and I said the surfing was better down here so Jon moved to Florida and we started The Drums."

"We just wanted to start a band that sounded like The Wake." say The Drums, "We heard their song 'Pale Spectre' and went crazy! Maybe our music didn't turn out sounding too much like The Wake but we're really just like everybody else, chasing that perfect pop song. And that's not so bad right?"

Not so bad indeed! The Drums have a sound that pulls together years of obvious influence by the Factory records sound and a sudden fascination with 50's surf culture. A combination that maybe doesn't seem logical, but when you hear it you'll know you need it, you've gotta have it and it's what has always been missing. Now back in New York City, The Drums are hard at work on their first record, which is bound to be an instant classic!
Surfer Blood

The West Palm Beach, Fla., foursome of Surfer Blood (formerly known as TV Club) come to us with an irresistibly catchy piece of, well, surf-y rock, at least (also a bit Weezer-esque in a very good way). The track's opening salvo of distorted guitar riffs and heavily reverbed vocals is quickly followed by the punchy eponymous chorus before settling into the island groove of the middle section that builds back up to the anthemic end.-Pitchfork.com

"On a recommendation from a friend, I went to check 'em out. They played in this small venue, where I've seen a lot of shows... but I've never seen it as packed. You'll be hearing more from this band for sure." - Ian Witlen, Spin.com

I was swept by West Palm Beach’s Surfer Blood (formerly TV Club). Like sweetness accosted by danger and chaos, their blaring guitar pop pairs ringing, lovely and occasionally triumphant melodies with head-rushing swells of noise. They’re onto an exhilaratingly modern sound and have the goods to make big ripples. And wrecking your instruments at the end of your set never hurts." - The Orlando Weekly
The Depreciation Guild

The Depreciation Guild is a fuzzed-out, reverb drenched rock/electronic duo consisting of Kurt Feldman (guitar, vocals, programming/chip-tunes, toys), Christoph Hochheim (guitar, vocals), and Anton Hochheim (live drums). Backed solely by a Nintendo Entertainment System, the band blankets their sound with the crushing blows of its 8-Bit 2A03 sound chip. Drawing inspiration from a wide array of classic shoegaze/dream-pop bands such as My Bloody Valentine, Pale Saints, and Cocteau Twins, as well as electronic composers such as Bill Nelson and YMO, The Depreciation Guild have artfully cultivated a unique sound that strikes a balance between progressive and retro-chic.

The band’s first EP, Nautilus, released by 8 Bit Peoples in January of 2006, is a blissed-out, swirling, guitar-heavy epic that was received with international acclaim.

In December 2007, their first full-length, In Her Gentle Jaws was released, which takes the band’s songwriting and arranging to breathtaking new places. From the sonic attack of Sky Ghosts to the lullaby calm of Heavy Eyes The Depreciation Guild have created a piece of music designed to be heard as a whole - an album filled with highs and lows, saturated in color, and drifting into dream.

The album is available as a free download from the In Her Gentle Jaws website.
