Korallreven
Korallreven are Marcus Joons and Daniel Tjäder.
It all started on the South Pacific island Samoa some years ago when Marcus was there for a longer vacation and one day, while chillin' under a coconut tree, got a feeling of how he wanted the pop music of his dreams to be. Spiritual like the local Samoan Catholic church choirs, hypnotic like the breathtaking tropical nature and, overall, a feeling of that you finally had reached to "the other side".
So, since some summers he and dear friend Daniel – who aside of this play keyboard in The Radio Dept. – have suffered some blood, sweat and even tears to turn this South Pacific dream into reality

True Panther Sounds is very pleased to announce the forthcoming release of Diver the 2nd album by Lemonade available worldwide on May 29th. Diver is a sensual, bold electronic record, swimming ecstatically in the melodies of early 90?s R&B, UK 2-step Garage, Balearic house and NY freestyle. The trio, Callan Clendenin (vocals), Ben Steidel (synths, bass) and Alex Pasternak (drums, programming) recorded the album over the course of several years, at home in New York, on tour in Brazil between shows, or in their practice space in the basement of an old Catholic school. Ultimately, the album came to life when the band recruited producer Le Chev (Frankie Rose, Fischerspooner, SSION) to add the finishing touches and assist in fully realizing the band’s vision of Diver.

The music that Mary Anne Hobbs once called “pure, agile, hedonistic pop music,” is still there, but in an infinitely more potent and focused form. Callan’s lyricism reaches new intimate lows and ecstatic highs. Where Lemonade used to seek transcendence through psychedelic dance-floor physicality, Callan now looks inward, at the emotions of limited means, the urban everyday, and his attempts to hold on to redemptive love and romance in a cybernetic, information-rich world. Lemonade reference PM Dawn and Sade in the same sentence as Julio Bashmore and Swedish House Mafia. They are sounds of the past synthesized with contemporary dance music boueyed by the most immediate matters of the heart.

“Neptune”, the first taste from Diver, is a case in point. It’s a pure and emotional R&B track, an instant and surprising classic. The single will be released next month with remixes from Mike Simonetti, Jacques Renault, and Sinjin Hawke. Stay tuned for more info.
Young Magic
Young Magic
“Lush and Immersive…summons an elusive mood of longing within the sonic wonderment.” - NY Times

“Mesmerizing and dreamlike, Melt is an extraordinary release, seeking endless complexity and intrigue.” - Performer Magazine

“A cracking debut of invention and intrigue by this New York based trio. The best way to experience Melt is to sink into it shorn of expectations. Here, the listener can really let the bubbling melodies, chanted mantras and delicious textures take hold. Once bitten, it’s unlikely Melt will let go of one’s attentions soon. An exquisite new breed to behold.” - BBC

“Melt is the alternate universe you’ve been searching for. A stunning debut.”
The Music

“Some records are defined by the time and place of their creation, but Young Magic’s piecemeal approach has the opposite effect. It doesn’t sound like it came from a certain somewhere, but rather, everywhere. At once pulverizing and pristine, it’s an HD stunner.” - Pitchfork

Young Magic is the sonic pairing between Indonesian vocalist, Melati Malay and Australian producer, Isaac Emmanuel. Though based in New York, the eclectic outfit has recorded music whilst traversing the four corners of the earth.

After debuting a series of 7” releases on Carpakr Records in 2011, the band took the stage at Iceland Airwaves and began touring globally including main support for Youth Lagoon and Purity Ring. February 2012 saw the release of their full length, Melt with NPR, BBC, XLR8R, New York Times and a plethora of other publications and blogs singing the album’s praises. The group’s expansive live show continued to grow throughout 2012 and 2013 with performances at Berghain, Austin Psych Fest and The Brooklyn Museum. Remixes quickly surfaced online including cuts by Matthew David, S.Maharba & Purity Ring.

In 2014, the duo present a new gift from their explorations in their second full length album, Breathing Statues. The new LP navigates through a labyrinth of phantom harmonies and crystalline beats, with breathtaking cover artwork by longtime collaborator Leif Podhajsky. Recorded in fragments through Morocco, France, Czech Republic, Australia, Iceland and finished in their home studio in New York, Breathing Statues is a lush and distinctive collection that colors the world a new soundscape.
